About

After years working in social work and community roles in Melbourne, I found myself at a turning point. Burnt out and craving creativity, I picked up an old lampshade and began weaving yarn around the frame. It was simple and slow — but something shifted. A love for textiles that had always been in me was reignited.

Skye Lightly was born from that moment of rediscovery.

Now based on the Surf Coast but forever connected to Melbourne, I create bespoke lighting that blends colour, texture, and form. Every piece is made slowly, intentionally — a celebration of process, play, and quiet joy.

I take inspiration from modern art, architecture, fashion, and the natural world. Each light is woven over many hours using fine, organic yarn, creating decorative lighting that’s more art than object. The result? Sculptural pendant lights, feature table lights, and flush-mount ceiling lights that bring warmth and personality to your space.

Whether you’re after a pendant light for a kitchen island, a bedside table light, or a one-of-a-kind statement light above the dining table, I design lighting with real homes in mind — lighting that feels personal, playful, and deeply considered.

Many Skye Lightly pieces now live in homes across Melbourne, Geelong, and regional Victoria — each one a quiet celebration of slow design, handcrafted beauty, and sustainable craftsmanship.
